I visited New Orleans in early 2022 for a story about how coastal cities are adapting to rising sea levels.
North Sumatra, Indonesia
In 2019, I went on a reporting trip to North Sumatra, one of Asia's largest carbon sinks. I traveled with a group of non-profit workers from Aceh, the northern town devastated by the Indian Ocean tsunami 15 years earlier. I later published a long-form story about regulatory loopholes that led to the rampant exploitation of rainforests.
